At some point in early February the family decided, since my nephew and I have birthdays close together we all should go to the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum. I was all for it and my nephew said, “cool yea lets go”. He has a friend with a birthday close to his, so with two cars off we went.
Once we were all unloaded I managed to snap a couple pictures of a cool looking car that was right out front of the museum. I don’t think the museum had the car on display because it was gone when the family and I were leaving, so to who ever owns it great job on the paint and all the other work done.
The Hughes Flying Boat, H-4, HK-1 Spruce Goose was great to look at from the out side , but I wasn't allowed to see much of the inside. It was still cool that no mater where I was in the building , every time I looked up I saw the goose.
The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress was another highlight of my day. I don't know why it is but that plane is one of my top favorites. on TV and in pictures it looks a hole lot bigger then it really is to me.
On the back right side was a small escape hatch that I stuck me head in and I saw just how small the plan was. I didn't know it at the time, it seems I spent almost an hour roaming around the plane.
After all said and done all of us agreed that the hole two and half hours was a real blast. If you like neat old planes and space stuff this museum will be a great day of fun for the family.
